We needed a study on this? Are there really people out there that thought this rule was grounded in science instead of it just being a means to lie to ourselves about eating food we'd otherwise throw away?

  1. Ok, duh! Duh, duh, duh, it doesn't take but a millisecond for a germ to attach to food etc, but guess what...my hand touched the ground anyway and that germ might make it into my mouth without the food item. I wash my hands and my fruit and veggies and I don't eat food off the ground, but my kids do. It grosses me out, but my son is a walking germ magnet. His hands are always full of dirt and he never gets sick. He may just be building a pretty good immune system.

    Of course, I am constantly saying...H, go wash your hands. Please, ugh, gross, do not out that in your mouth.
