Unreported Violent Crime Rose, Reported Violent Crime Fell


Bubblehead Les sent me this link. He and I think alike, as I'd quickly put a comment on the story over at G+.

What is interesting is that violent crime in the US has been on the decline for so long that a bump in only one type of violent crime causes a distortion over the entire field. Speculation in this article is that school age kids are taking fights off campus. I would have thought the number of snatch-and-grab cell phone (iPhone) robberies were the causes.

Also, perhaps this number is bogus: "The results are considered the government's most comprehensive crime statistics because they count both crimes...

  1. I sent this out because, like a lot of things coming from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. over the last few years, Reality doesn't seem to match the Propaganda. But it looks like the White House couldn't stop this report from being published. I wish the Stats were available to do a "Compare and Contrast," though. I have a strong suspicion that most of the increase is in those Big Cities that still hamper the RKBA.
