Not Quite There

If some of you were wondering why I have not posted much lately (I know it was a burning question you all had), that's because last week I was in Vancouver on business and this week I'm in Burlington, VT on vacation. There's a bunch of blogs I need to catch up on, but that won't happen until I get back to the real world. And even then I'll be catching up on the crap that is waiting for me back at the office.

We decided to take the train up to Burlington. NEVER AGAIN! Amtrak sucks.

Towards the end of 15th hour of our 12 hour trip, everybody was kinda frazzled. At one stop, my son stood up, peered out the window, and was somehow impressed with the electrical wires over on another track and the insulators that kept it up. He blurted out "Look at all the hookers!" repeatedly, causing quite a bit of laughter.

At the Echo science center in Burlington there was an interactive water exhibit. While all the other children were playing with the small boats in the water, my son decided he would see if he could jam the water wheel.

I'm all thumbs.

And he succeeded.

While there, I went about my other hobby of documenting the vendor of the building's heating and air conditioning controls system.

Automated Logic Corporation of Kennesaw, GA.

What? You don't notice those things? I also like to take pictures of the building fire and security panels, but I've found that tends to get you in trouble.

  1. Lol, my daughter one time said "Look at the hooker" several times while poinint at a woman walking into a restaurant. My daughter is deaf and her speech is a work in progress. She was trying to say something else, but it came out hooker. Unfortunelty, no one except for me was laughing:) My 14 year old was mortified as was the "hooker."

    1. Ha! Yeah, that's a little more embarrassing. Fortunately children can get away with these things.

  2. Pictures of the automated temp controls? Yeah, that's geeky.
    At least you're not trainspotting.

    Enjoy your trip.

    1. Coming clean, I use to work for ALC. Chances are the building is controlled with some of my code. Scary thought.
