Range Report from Fort CTone

I exercised the Chip McCormick and new Wilson Compat
magazines in my Springfield 1911.
CTone has been off the grid lately, so I ventured south yesterday afternoon to check on our blog buddy.  Diverting off I-95, then a state highway, then a county road, then wooded lane, and then putting my truck into 4 wheel drive, I finally found the place. But I'm here to tell you, there is nothing to worry about. That man has found his slice of heaven.

It's a nice abode, and nice and secluded. And there you will find CTone with his family, his nice house, his knife making tools, and his backyard shooting range.

So CTone and I did what we always do when we get together. We shot guns. Starting with pistols on steel targets, we then moved to rifles. He brought out his SKS since I had never shot one before (me likey) and the he helped me sight in the Colt HBAR at 100 yards. We were so busy I neglected to grab a photo.

CTone has plans for his shooting range. I can't wait to go back when he has things in full production. As we parted, we gifted me a box of CTone .45 Special. Thanks buddy! Can't wait to go back.

  1. Damn, I wish I'd known, I'd have tagged along! I need to get my HBAR on paper too! Glad y'all had fun!

    1. It was a very informal, impromptu thing. CTone still has stuff in boxes. I'm sure once he's up to full CTone standards, he'll be itchin' to show off the place.

  2. We should be nice and do a house-warming thing.

You know, get him bath towels and a blender and shit like that.

  4. Let me know if those rounds shoot well in your 1911, Andy. As you could see, I've got plenty loaded, and I've got bullets already cast and boxes of spent brass spread about in all those boxes. The ammo fairy may visit more often!

I made an honest attempt to get all my gun/reloading stuff organized yesterday, but I need to build a bench for all my presses. I also need a bench for my vice, arbor press, and all my other holster and knife making stuff. I figure Fort CTone is only about 50% operational at the moment.

And thanks for leaving your steel! I need to pick up some 9 millimetah ammo and get back into practice.

    1. Sure thing. As for the steel, give me a heads up before you hit Greentop again.
