I needed some reading for my upcoming trip to China, and I figured I needed something that could keep my rapt attention even in the most tired of conditions. And that means a history book about war... a good history book. A friend told me about C&W Used Books in Chantilly, which has a rather sizable military history section right up front.

What a great store! I immediately found Rick Atkinson's Pulitzer prize winning An Army At Dawn. I had read his book about the Iraq war, In The Company of Soldiers. That wasn't the best military history book I've read, but it was good. For those of us who read it, we knew who General David Patreus was before he took over the Iraq war and oversaw the "surge" and was painted as a villain by MoveOn.org.
Hunting around the store I found some books that now reside on my Amazon wish list. And I found a couple of more books I'd like to read. It was tempting, but I managed to restrict myself to the one book I needed. (I do have an Android development book on the way from Amazon too). I see myself easily going back to C&W.
