Hawaii Five-O in Review

I was a little tired last night for the premier of Hawaii Five-O, so it is possible I missed quite a bit. And I was quite a bit put off by the opening scene of terrorist gun-ship helicopters attacking a US military "prisoner" convoy. While the high quality stunts and action scenes were very welcome, that whole bit just seemed over the top.

Anyway... how about some reviews:

‘Hawaii Five-O’: McGarrett’s Old Car Gets A Cameo -- Its about McGarrett's car from the original series. Not just a car of the same make and model, but the actual car from the original series.

Hawaii Five-0 Premieres to Excellent Ratings -- Second highest ratings of the night.

Review: ‘Hawaii Five-0′ -- What a native Hawaiian thinks of the series. Don't miss the link at the bottom CNET's review of the carbine rifles of Hawaii Five-O. Very cool.

I have to agree that the production quality was very good and well executed. I felt like I was watching a big budget Hollywood movie, and the stunts were inventive. And though I didn't catch the fact that an FN FS2000 was used, I did notice that McGarrett's pistol had the unusual habit of running out of ammo, he quite frequently press checked his gun, and he had to perform quite a few tactical reloads. Generally on TV and in the movies, guns just don't run out of "bullets". So I found that interesting.
