Coming Out ...of the Gun Cabinet: the Pink Pistols
I just finished listening to Tom Gresham's interview with Nikki Stallard of the Pink Pistols. It was pretty interesting to listen to Nikki talk about how the media treats gay gun owners differently than... well, straight gun owners. Tom agreed and so do I. The political intersection of gay rights and gun rights is one that can be mutually beneficial, especially in breaking down preconceived notions and returning people to some classically liberal ideas.
Don't believe me. Consider the recent story of High Bridge Arms, the sole gun store in San Francisco. Guess which group has come out in support of its re-opening and hasn't been painted as a group of gun-toting rednecks? That's right, its the Pink Pistols.
