More Bigoted Americans: Remembering the Dubia Ports World Controversy

As I see some "progressives" start to use the word "bigot" and imply racist motives with regard to the opponents of the Ground Zero Mosque, it occurred to me that we had a similar thing just a couple of years ago. It was the Dubai Ports World controversy, in which Democrats and their "progressive" apparatus were out in full force against P&O, a British company with leases on six U.S. ports, being purchased by a Muslim company.

Let's see if we can find some bigoted quotes about those scary Muslims running a company that, unlike a mosque, would fall under U.S. government oversight:
"we're allowing our port security to be outsourced to foreign governments"
That was 100 day U.S. Senator Barack Obama. Never mind that P&O was already foreign owned, it just wasn't foreign owned by Muslims. See the difference.

I could go on about this, but I'm not the only one who has taken notice about the left's hypocrisy between GZM and DPW.

I could also point out that "port security" was important then because we didn't want terrorists doing who knows what at our sea-based entry points... but securing our southern border and land-based entry points these days, not so highly important. But that is a topic for another day.
